THE CAMP RENAISSANCE/K-O SKILLS
2nd ANNUAL
DURELLE BROWN BASKETBALL CLASSIC
FOR THE BENEFIT OF
THE AMERICAN SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF ATHLETIC PROGRAM
Dear Camp Families:
In summer 2009, the K-O Skills Basketball Camp held an All-Star basketball game, with all proceeds benefiting The American School for the Deaf Athletic program. The game was coordinated by Durelle Brown, who serves as our Camp Program Director and who, for the last nine years, has had a highly successful professional basketball career overseas. With great success, Durelle has competed in countries such as Argentina and Holland.
The event showcased some of the top basketball players in the region, and raised over $1,000 for the ASD Athletic program.
We have decided to make the event an annual tradition at camp. Henceforth, the game will be called The Durelle Brown Basketball Classic in honor of one of the finest young men I have ever known. Durelle will coordinate all aspects of the game, which will be held this summer at Kingswood-Oxford School at some point the week of August 9. (The last week of Basketball Camp).
Our June mailing will contain full details of the Durelle Brown Basketball Classic, including the opportunity to purchase tickets. On June 1, the same information will also be posted on our camp website.
We hope that our Camp Families will support what is sure to be a wonderful evening of basketball and camaraderie for a great cause.
Best wishes,
Dan Doyle
